John Cabot University was founded in 1972 as a four-year college of liberal arts and sciences, with all courses taught in English (except Italian language and literature).

Today JCU is a unique accredited independent university with American roots and a distinctively international character, offering its students both European and American degrees.

The distinguished faculty of over 70 full and part-time professors from around the world is dedicated to teaching and ensuring that students receive the individual attention needed to fully develop their talents and abilities. Most classes are relatively small and interactive; the language of instruction is English. In addition, John Cabot University is proud to host a comprehensive schedule of academic and professional lectures, featuring prominent representatives from around the world.

John Cabot's main campus is situated near St. Peter's and the Vatican in the charming Trastevere quarter, with a fine-arts annex on the other side of the Tiber River. The central Rome location means that students are literally surrounded by the history and art of thousands of years. John Cabot's strategic position in this world center of diplomacy, combined with the unique relationship enjoyed with leading multinational corporations, embassies, media and international organizations, also gives JCU students the opportunity to participate in exclusive internship programs and to be first-run candidates for distinguished job openings in the vibrant inter-national market.

Courses Offered:
John Cabot University confers the Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Art History, Business Administration, Economics, English Literature, Humanistic Studies, International Affairs, Italian Studies and Political Science.

More Information:

Students are placed with other (usually US) SAI students in apartments that are privately owned and located in buildings shared by Italian residents.  A typical residence will house 2-6 students, and contains a combination of single and double bedrooms.  SMC students are placed in double rooms (students who wish to have a single room, will need to pay the additional fee to SAI). The kitchen, bathrooms, and living areas are shared.

If you are a student at one of the US Lasallian universities or colleges, you will remain enrolled at your school and pay tuition and program fees there. Tuition is based on your campus tuition rates and may include an additional surcharge depending on the program. Contact the person on your campus responsible for study abroad.
